We all know that Sprint has reported nothing but negative numbers every quarters for a couple years now but they seem to take it and keep on trucking right along. The 3rd quarter of 09 has proven to be more hopeful than that of previous quarters, does sprint owe this to the Palm Pre?
Sprint reported a net loss of $478 million with a revenue of just $8 billion. Now us common folk would be pulling our hair out but Sprint doesn’t seem to be scrambling just yet. Last quarter Sprint lost 257,000 subscribers but this quarter are only reporting losing 135,000 which is a sizeable difference.
Sprint’s new Anymobile plans are a great value to customers but it will take more than that to turn this negative reporting turned into positive numbers. Perhaps a wider selection of mobile phones as well as a few more Android-powered handsets may do the trick. Whatever Sprint decides to do it will take a great amount of time, these things do not change overnight.
